Photographs of Willow Bedding for Yellowstone

Edwin Remmick and the other truck drivers drove their loads of cut willow branches  to the Yellowstone River which cut it's own path all to often, so, to prevent this the CCC built  huge sections of willow bedding along the banks of this river.

Photograph above is showing the top of the ridge of the Yellowstone River.  Roads were carved down into the canyon and the CCC carried the willows down to the areas that were being protected from farther erosion.  The photograph below is showing the men working with the willows along the Yellowstone river bank.  In the background you can see the ridge from a different angle.
