Email from Marsha Sanger on our Ladies Luncheon of 31 Jan 2014, #28:

>>Sixteen classmates attended our 28th "Class of ;60 Ladies Luncheon" in Lodi, at Habanero Hots in Lodi.

Those in attendance were: Patti Bender, Dianne Cooper, Gayle Beutscher, Marlene Hunber, Pat Kishida, Sandy Lind, Sydney Matts, Marlene Miller, Maryilyn Ostrmann, Morma Peterson, Judy Remmick, Kay ROzler, Annette Reiswig, Marsha Sanger, Lynette Wlther and Kathy Welsh.

Emails of regret but tell everyone hello, came from:  Kathleen Banegas, Cathleen Bjlland, Judy Bouska, Sharon Christopherson, Carolyn DeVinny, Starla Filler, Cherie Flower, Claire Fujita, Marjorie Garrison, Conna Homes, Jani Keir, Carolyn Marshall, Karen Olson, Jeanne REimche, ..., Shirely Savig, Maxine Schaffer, Donna Schumacker, Mavis Seiber, Marlene Stourt, Sharon Tanaka, Felis Urrutia, Lynette Weidner, and Jaet and Janice Woehl.

We had a quick round of "Show and Tell", and those who participate, or I could hear, (the ears are fading), entered the following:

Patti Bender is enjoying her comfortable recliner and her new puppy.

Kathy Welsh is doing find and keeping busy, and reported that our classmate, Barbara Boepple Mettler, passed away the night before. Her memorial service will be Sunday, Feb. 9, at noon at the United Congregational Christian Church on the corner of Tokay and Hutchins.

Dianne Cooper was just hired to work at a tax office in Galt as it IS that time of the year.

Sandy Lind gave her motor home travels in less than her one minute allotment which included; Utah, Las Vegas, Quarzsite, Lake Havasu and home.  WHEW!

Annette Reiswig will be leaving soon for Puerto Rico with seven family members and off to Tuscany in May with her son and his wife.

Judy Remmick was in Lodi dealing with her family's property and getting things in order and said they had "a good year" and graciously picked up our lunch tab.  THANK YOU JUDY for your very generous act.  Judy also took photos and sent them to me, and I've been trying for days to get them into one email, combined with my update. I called her today for HELP, and then went locally for more help.

Marilyn Ostermann was recently in San Diego / Santa Barbara with her extended family.  She spoke of a new painting project that she experiences which I don't understand, but I think it's something with acrylics and wine tasting.  I guess you drink wine and your creative side emerges & you end up wit a "work of art", maybe to hang in your garage.

Gayle Deutscher looked terrific, but said that she was in th E.R. three time in three weeks which included the removal of her appendix, dehygration and needing a new deflibulator for her cardimyopathy.  Hopefully se's now good-t-go for many more miles.

Lynette Walter reported that's she's as  healthy as a horse, thank goodness, but her daughter will be having a double mastectomy soon and her son's eye was compromised in a recent accident.

Marlene Hunter is playing music around the area and lifting the spirits of those who hear her.

Pat Kishida came back to Lodi ten years ago to care for her aging mother who will turn 97 next friday (2/7).  After graduation from SF State, she worked in the legal profession here-and-there in the Bay Area.  It was her first luncheon & we hope she'll return.

Sydney Matts had an operation one year ago & recovery was suppose to take three months, and after ten months she all-of-a-sudden felt better & looks terrific.  She recently spent 35 days in France with friends and ate the local fresh produce and reported that her digestive system was so happy.  We need to watch all of those preservatives/ chemicals that we eat and breathe.

As for me, I took a day trip to San Jose on the ACE train (Altamont Commuter Express) which was billed a a tour to see "Christmas in the Park" and other San Jose highlights.  Luckily a friend from that area met me for lunch & we had a fun time until she asked me how to get back to the train station.  Well,  I missed the first train, but I as the first one to get on that next train.  (There are only 4).  I won the "gab of ACE goodies" as I was the only one of this "tour".  THe train was full of commuters, however, and it's a real deal for us seniors or even if you're not.

After the last update went out, I received an email from Richard Coulter.  I asked him if I could include his photo, so hopefully I'll be able to attach it.  In early November, I received a phone call from Jim Gage who was "wintering" in AZ, and enjoying "the good life".  Regard also came from Bell Belforte now living in Alabama, and Carol Hughes in North Carolina.

Our next gather will be Friday, April 25, 2014.

Please forgive me if I forgot to mention someone or some way neglected something.  It's a "given", but...

Stay HEALHY< SAFE and HAPPY and hope to see you at our next gathering.  Enjoy each precious day, as life does have an expiration date!
