Adolph Hoffer, 83, of Woodbride, died June 18 at his home.  He was born Jan. 31, 1915 in Dawson, N.D..

Mr. Hoffer worked in his father's blacksmith shop while growing up in Dawon, and fathered horses for the military during the Franklin Roosevelt administration.

He entered the US. Army during World War  II* and served until the end of the war.

Following the war, Mr. Hoffer worked for the Pacific Clay Products and retired from Del Monte at the age of 65.

He was active with the Lodi V.F.W. Post No. 1968 **** where he served as commander in 1967.  He enjoyed working with his hands.... He was a member of Zion Reformed Church in Lodi.

Mr. Hoffer is survived by his wife, Zenaida Hoffer***, two daughters, ina Martinez of San Fancisco and Debra Van Vactor of Galt; a brother Reinhold Hoffer of New Jersey; and a sister, Martha House** of North Dakota.

*Was in the Philippines during the war.  He took a number of photographs during his stay on these islands.
