Peter Hofer migr. from Niederseebach / Weissenburg-Alsace his wife and children grained permission to migrate to the Taurien area of Russia in Franfurt a. Main on the 15 /17 April 1809.

The route taken was:

  • To Erfurt on 24 April, 1809
  • Babrice on 16 June 1809
  • Myslenice on 18 June 1809
  • Tarnow on 20 June 1809
  • Lemberg on 27 July 1809
  • Podhorce on 29 June 1809

Who Is Andreas Hofer?

Andreas  Hofer is listed as having been a Tyrolean innkeeper, who lead a revolt in 1809 against Bavaria to whom the French had given Tyrol. Because of his sucess  Andreas was elected governor [Oberkommandant] of Tyrol. Two months later, Andreas was  betrayed by the Austrians and  capturedby the French, who took him  to Mantua, Italy and Andreas was executed 20 Feb. of 1810. Meanwhile, his family was hunted down, however, some managed to escaped and settled in Russia.

Ulrich Duerrenberg d. 1665 , Melker f Gundershoffen (Alsace).  A head of household in early Niederbronn Lutheran church records, which include Gundershoffen.  A Calvinist he was probably born aoubt 1635 in Switzerland.  Surived by his wife Veronia and three children; ther whereabouts after his death are unknown.

Georg Duerrenberg b. abt 1664 of Oberbronn (Alsace).  Called "Reebmann" in Oberbronn, and very likely a Swiss immigrant.  He and his wife Anna Maria had numberous children in Oberbonn between 1686 and 1705.  Oberbronn records have not yet been checked.

Johannes Duerenberg b. abt 1650 d. 1711 of Strasbourg (Alsace.  Called "Stadtherchandens" in Strasbourg, also a soldier, and very likely a Swiss immigrant. He married 22 Sept 1711  Strasbourg / Alsace to Susanna Schwaul, b. 4 April 1681 Strasourg/ Alsace). Their daughter Susanna (b. 1681) m. Peter Waldhardt (of Switzerland) in 1711 in Oberhausbergen

Mathias Duerrenberg b. abt 1670 of Ribeauville (Haut-Rhine, Alsace).  His son of Carl married Catharina Schmidt, and Carl's son Franz Jopseh b. abr 1724 d. 28 Sept 1793 Fortschwihr / Haut-Rhin, Alsace married in Soufflenheim / Bas-Rhine in 1750 to Magdalena Schaeffer before moving to Fortschwihr, Bischwihr and Wickerschwihr.

Heinrich Durrenberg b. 1696  Palatinate (Pfalz) d. 17 April 1770 Alsting/ Moselle, Lorraine.   Lived in  Neuleiningen , Palatinate and Alsting, Lorraine.  Founder of the Durrenberg family of Alsting, Lorraine and its nearby towns.  Born in Palainate, his connection to Durrenberg families in Alsace and Switzerland has no yet been established. He married  24 Jan 1736 Schoeneck / Moselle / Lorraine to Anna Marguerite Flauss b. 2 March 1719 Altsting/ Moselle, Lorraine  d. 11 May 1772 Allsting  Anna was, also, m. 9 Nov 1756 to Jean Weber.
