He is standing beside the grave marker of his grandfather Gottlieb Fischer who died 29 May 1909 of cancer. He is buried in the old Evangelical Methodist Cemetery about three miles east of the old homestead. His wife died in 1927 and is buried in the Streeter cemetery. Her only grave marker is the foot stone taken from her husband's, Gottlieb's, grave and is inscribed G.F.
