Lustnau built on an area that was once a Allemanic settement.  There was some excavation in the 1960s.  The village of Lustnau was founded in 1100 and was known as Lustnow.   It was known in the Middle Ages  for it's wine gardens. Thee three main ones were "Herrlesberg",  "Oesterberg" and "Neuhalde".  In 1934 the town of Lustnau was incorporated into the city of Tuebingen which is in the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg state of Germany.   It is, also, known for it festival called "Dorfrally" which takes place every two years.  It is given for the youth.  (Source: wikipedia taken from the offical site which is German)

Tuebingen should be mention.  It is a university town and situated just 19 miles from the state capital, Stuttgart.  The Ammmer and Steinlach rivers flow into the Neckar river, which flows right through the town, just south of the edieval old town.  The history of the down shows races of the Romans who settled in the area about 12th millennium BC.  In the 6th / 7th century the area was pupulated by the Alamanni, who were warlike and probably a mixture of Celto-Germanic tribes.   In 1007 Hugo I, Count of Tuebingen,  built several castles, one being Hohentubingen, which can be found in records in 1078 whenn it was taken by Henry IV, King of Germany.  There were a stream of caretakers who were second only the the dukes of the Duchy of Swabia. In 1146 it was "raised to country palatine".   Along with this task came the rights of justice, hunting, cusoms and mints.  The first coin struck was in Tuebingen in 1185.  Various owners included Ulrich, Duke of Wuerttemberg disestablished Popel Alexander IV monastery in 1153 and establised the Protestant Reformation.   In 1264 it was told to Lgvt. Hesse and in 1342 to Wuerttemberg, which it was under when the records of the Heusel family in Lustnau were born, married and died..  The founding of the Eberhard Karls Universitiy by Duke Eberhard of Wuerttemberg in 1477 makes it one of the oldest universities in Central Europe.  Today it has 22,000 students and is part of Germany and the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg.
